How To Set Up Starting Blocks - The Music Video
Learn the song and you'll know how to set your blocks up correctly every time! This video uses Auditory Memory Reinforcement (having a song get stuck in your head) to teach sprinting block setup.
As a musician who is both fascinated and unsettled by AI's insatiable hunger for all aspects of human creativity - I say let's at least have some fun with it and mix up the traditional sprinting tutorial inspired by some old school east coast hip hop.
So this video is 75% human, 25% robot.
Human: athletes, film crew, editor, lyric writer, frustrated prompter
Robot: rapper, beat maker
Featured Athletes: Cejhae Greene, Dario Mateo, Favour Ashe, Azeem Fahmi, Makanakaishe Charamba, Warren Fraser

    Yup I completely agree, I would even say I involves the most difficult training in the world, you need speed and posture of a sprinter and endurance of a endurance athlete, actually, and all jokes apart, these guys go through a lot of physical and mental excursion, me personally I’ve done/endured sprinter training for 6 years, regularly

    I've been doing A-skips with 2-foot (down) to 1-foot (knee up), and I've seen a video of Noah Lyles recently doing more or less that. Azim looks like he does that but in slow motion it shows that he's always bouncing off 1 foot! Is this the preferred way to do A-skips and is there a difference?

    • @OutperformOfficial
      @OutperformOfficial День назад

      Both ways are effective as long as you are driving the foot down and keeping it dorsiflexed.

    Runner and a freshman. I tried to take it easy at the start and by the time I got to about 200 yards, I was getting SMOKED so I tried to pick up the pace and in the final 100 yards, I had nothing. No legs, no wind, and I was literally delusional. After throwing up my snack and water, they asked me if I liked to run the race on a regular basis. I can't tell you what I said because I would be banned. But, you catch my drift. It was the running joke the rest of my time on next three seasons of track. The 440/400 meters takes a special person and mindset. Hats off to all of you who enjoy running that event.

    Back in the late 70's I ran the half mile and the mile both had some strategic planning. In one meet, the coach asked if I could fill in for the 440. I said sure. My thoughts were it's only one lap. Let me tell you something. That was the first and the last time I EVER volunteered to do that the rest of my track seasons in high school. I thought I was going to die!! I'm was a competitive

    I ran my first season of track and I got stuck doing the 400 and 800 which were back to back. Lemme just tell you… it’s hell. That’s the best way to describe it I felt so sick after all my 400s and still had to run the 800 after which is also a brutal race and the last two meets I had I begged my coach to let me not run the 800 so that puts in perspective how bad it is for those who haven’t run this terrible race before. But the glory. The glory’s what makes it all worth it the pain and suffering the feeling of sickness all fades away when your friends and coaches gather round you saying good job telling you broke your pb. Just talkin about it makes me wish it was track season again

    Great short documentary. This, folks, is why running a sub 10 second 100m is the pinnacle of human achievement. There is no other physical or intellectual achievement where less than 200 people in history have accomplished that achievement.

    I think the 400m is the absolute perfect (semi) sprint race in all of T&F. I only ran in high school, but I was built for the 400m (440yd in my day). The faster sprinters were afraid because it was too long, and the distance runners didn't like starting off that fast. I was definitely in my element with the 440.

    How can this be implemented whilst actually running? Does it come naturally through drills such as the A skip or is it something one has to mindfully do it in practise? Thanks

    • @OutperformOfficial
      @OutperformOfficial День назад

      Yes, A skips, A runs, wall drills etc. will all help train the body and nervous system to perform this movement when sprinting. You can also use it as a cue during acceleration drills.
